Robert "Bob" Joseph Albert, of Oakley, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Union Court Assisted Living in Chesaning. He was 88 years of age.
Bob was born in Saginaw on October 8, 1936, a son of the late Arthur and Catherine (Indlekofer) Albert. Bob graduated from St. Michael Catholic High School in Maple Grove. He was united in marriage to Rose Kukulis on October 13, 1962, and they have been residents of Oakley since 1972.
Bob had honorably served in the Michigan National Guard and worked at General Motors Powertrain for 36 years before retiring in 1991. He was a member of St. Peter Parish Catholic Church in Chesaning. Building houses, playing cards, feeding the deer and birds and vacationing were some of his passions. He loved spending time with his family and especially his grandkids.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife Rose of over 62 years; their children, Deb (Bryan) Taylor, Ron (Lindsey) Albert, and Mike (Sheryl) Albert; nine grandchildren, Alex Taylor, Brooke Albert, Ashlyn Albert, Braden Albert, Seth Wheeler, Tad (Shelby) Wheeler, Audrianna (Richard) Kass, Luke Wheeler, and Laith (Rebecca) Wheeler; several great-grandchildren; siblings, Janet Ruddy, Lavern (Mary) Albert, Eileen Devota, Ed (Ann) Albert, Jim (Jan) Albert, and Leo (Chris) Albert; nieces and nephews; and other loving family and friends. He was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law, Art Ruddy and Pat Devota.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, 2025, at St. Peter Parish Catholic Church, 404 South Wood Street, Chesaning. Fr. Andrzej Boroch will officiate. Visitation will be at the church Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the Memorial Mass. Charitable donations given in memory of Robert may be made to the Dementia Society of America or to St. Peter Parish Catholic Church.
